Bellevue University Athletics - Bruins open season with 2-1 win at Concordia

Jessica Damery played for less than a half but was in the game long enough to get the game winning Header to put the Bellevue University Bruins up 2-0 and hold off the late surge of the Concordia bulldogs who squeaked in a Penalty Kick rebound with less than 6 minutes on the game clock.

This was a Battle as both teams crashed into the season opener at full speed and ended up with Bellevue losing an important defender in Mere Shuman who was knocked down in the first half and left via ambulance with appears to be a concussion.

You can see the First goal scored by Alyssa Porter to put the Bruins on the board.

then as the teams battled on and went to half with Bruins leading 1-0

It was time for some Damery action as Jessica subbed in and got the Security Header goal from a corner kick which eventually was the game winner. See that Video below:

The game was riddled with bumps and bruises and although the Bruins had one teammate leave in an ambulance they came out the stronger team in the end with a 2-1 Victory.

Damery World Tree keeps growing and expanding as Denny has sent me a list up the Weybright branch back to the 1700's.
More information coming as I find time to add these records in and then hopefully get some stories and more family information. I hope to bring it to the Reunion in September but who knows...

I love that technology allows us to keep in touch and see and hear family even though they are far away and circumstances keep you apart. Skype is a very underused tool for reaching out to other family members. A phone call is quick and always good too but to hear and see the other persons face or what is going on in their world can speak volumes without words.
I love that I can just make a funny face (which comes way too easy for me) and make someone else laugh. I really appreciate those I have had the pleasure of skype-ing and look forward to hear and seeing you in the future.

Damery Civil war findings

Well after watching the Ancestry show last week and hearing about the Judd's civil war connections. I decided to look into the Damery Civil war connections and I knew about John Damery who was born in Ireland and came to America with his parents and initially settled in Connecticut some time after the potato famine in Ireland and then joined the Civil war and after having 6 children was captured during the war and died in Andersonville prison. His brother Richard Damery had moved to the state of Illinois in the 1850's and finally in 1857 to Macon County Illinois when he went back to join the Civil war fight with Company B, Massachusetts 22nd Infantry Regiment in 1864.
Always proud of those who fight for the Freedoms of the land they believe in whether they are born here or not. I am proud of the Damery heritage in the civil war and the thought that they arrived in a new land of opportunity and was able to create for them selves lives with the freedom that the United States gave them.

It's that time again! High School Soccer!

Isaac Damery is #18 and is out there on D-Fense attacking the ball and clearing their 3rd of the pitch.

This was Bellevue East's first home game the first game of the season was a freezing game and was also a loss. They are 0-2 so far but it is only the beginning of the season so we will see how this turns out!

This will be his last year so sit back and enjoy!

Finally some sports action for the 2011 year, as Isaac Damery and the Bellevue East Boys Soccer team take on the Millard South Soccer team.

Although the weather said it should have been 60's that day it was windy and a very cool 40's and probably felt about freezing. The game was close 1-0 at half then Millard South took off and scored 2 more quick goals and the Bellevue Bench was filled with injuries. Isaac played hard and had a couple chances near the final minute to score but couldn't find the back of the net.
I will keep the Damery world up on his Senior year and hope to have some Video of the next game, he plays in.

Rest In Peace Moe

So sad that "Moe" Merle G. Damery has passed onto greener pastures February 27th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. surrounded by his family. This is another reminder to me that tomorrow is not promised all we have is today. Appreciate those who have paved the way for us. Thank you Moe, you will be missed.
Here is what the Decatur world-Herald said

"ASSUMPTION - Merle G. "Moe" Damery, 71, of Assumption, died at home Sunday, February 27th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. surrounded by his family. A private family funeral will be held Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption with a public burial at 12:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, Assumption. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2nd at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Moe was born at home in Assumption on September 1st, 1939, the son of William Elmer and Cleo Beatrice (Myres) Damery. He married Ann Marie Duck on December 28th, 1957 in Assumption, Illinois. Moe worked for Decatur Scale Co. with his brothers for a time, and then worked at Borg Warner as a millwright for many years, retiring from there. Later he worked at GSI in Assumption for 13 years and retired from there. He and his wife owned and operated Damery Disposal in Assumption for 49 years. They also owned and operated Moe's Place, also in Assumption for 13 years. Moe played and managed a fast-pitch softball team in Assumption for 33 years. He was a pitcher, and once had a 40-2 season, in which he pitched a perfect game and played for the state championship. He leaves behind his wife Ann Marie of 53 years; son Shawn Damery and wife Angela of Assumption; daughters Selena Reed and husband David of Assumption; Sabrina Bridgman and husband Rob of Assumption; Sonda Holthaus and husband Bob of Pana; and Sumer Sunderland and husband Brian of Assumption; brother Cecil and wife Esther of Macon; sisters Jule Damery of Assumption and Evelyn Wanless and husband Bob of Springfield. 11 grandchildren Brent, Bryce and Alex Damery, Katie Reed, Conner and Tim Bridgman, Joel, Molly and Abby Holthaus, and Ethan and Lea Sunderland; also great-granddaughter Harper Faye Holthaus. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister. Jess Damery and the BU Bruins fantastic run at the National championship ends with a shoot out in Oklahoma City. They played very well and I expect them to come back next year with a lot more fire power on Offence.

Jessica Damery and the rest of the Bellevue University Bruins womens soccer team celebrate winning the MCAC Championship 3-0. Jessica Damery scored a header goal in the 2nd half as the Bruins sailed on to shut out the Eagles and are ready to move on to the NAIA tourney where they are currently ranked #4.

Here it is July 4th again, and as I grow older I realize that our Freedom and Liberty are not as secure as I imagined as a child.

Sad News I find today as another Great Damery has passed away.

Thomas Arthur Damery, 77, of Mattapoisett, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010, in New Bedford after a lengthy illness. He grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Lexington High School.
He served in Korea with the U. S. Army. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1957 from Boston University. He worked in a variety of purchasing and administrative functions with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory for twenty-five years. He helped develop a, widely adopted Physics curriculum entitled the Physical Science Study Committee.

Well I posted on facebook for the family clan to get together and show those who dare what we are made of in CODMW2 last night ... sadly to say I only heard from my cuz Tera and she could not make it...what is the world coming too when cousins cant get together and rule an online video game?
To be fair I did give limited notice and most people wanted out of the house on a Friday night. So it may have just been logistics.
It has been great fun playing with my brother and cousins as we get to know each other better and some times we get to kill each other. Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is the game to bring us all together for good nuking fun!

Damery shooting rampage!

Isaac Damery turned 17 and then went on a shooting rampage shooting his friends and many men, women and children that he did not even know, at the HuskerPaintball.com outdoor paintball range.

Who knew a barrage of fire could be so fun! I would like to say that no one was hurt but it was a fun pain. All went home with an appreciation for the outdoors and good cover buddies.

Since we did not run out of ammo after almost four hours of paint pounding action, we will have to make another trip ...coming soon!

Another great year 2009!

I actually went to the first annual Patient Party first and got dirty with the pig, then the next day we traveled down to the World Famous Blue Mound convention center with the other 135+ Damery's to celebrate with eat and greet. I actually was outside with Denny looking over his RoadTrek 190 and drooling. It was good to see everyone but the time is way too short to get to catchup with those who you may not know so well or have not seen in years. I did not even get to tell them about the AlDamiry's I have been talking to in Egypt or the Damery in Jordan...we have family everywhere! We did make it out to the houseboat, after some confusion, and naturally jumped in for a swim and a couple trips down the water slide...brrrrrisk water fun!
I will add more info later as it comes to mind...get on GENI for more family connections.

Another year in the Ozarks for canoeing camping and deep thoughts on religion, politics and all things arguable! with three brothers that is not a hard thing to do...

This year we had just men and dogs and later we found tons of ticks! literally very very many ticks! The women decided to rough it in a condo on the Lakes while we tented and canoed the elements ...video coming later...we saw shooting stars as well as paint balls. Discussed miracles and the unseen as well as turning coke into crown and coke.

My $50 tent gave me $50 dollars worth, I did not realize that the roof ran out on the last night when both support sticks broke! Ack! but lucky for me and Isaac, Jay had plenty of room in his swiss army tent.

We shall see how the rest of the summer goes, weddings to come and reunions to go...

Jess Damery Scores and Beats cross town rivals

The Bellevue East Cheiftans took on the cross town rivals Bellevue West Thunderbirds last night in head to head soccer action. The Thunderbirds scored first, putting the Cheiftans on their heels, but the lead did not last long as the Bellevue East girls charged back with 4 goals, 1 scored by Jessica Damery.

Isaac started the high school season off with a game against Millard South and although they played to a 0-0 tie at half they eventually gave up 2 goals and lost a tough game 2-0.
Jessica begins the Bellevue East Senior High school Girls Varisty BEAST team season with a 4-1 first game in the Bellevue invitational tourney beating Duchesne Academy.

Wow what an adventure, we camped out in the elements created some awesome memories and are ready to do it again.
Good News first:

Fun getting family together.
Love camping out and eating over the fire.
Finding wild blue berries and eating them.
Fun canoeing down the river.
Great time playing paintball especially when you shoot someone.
Exciting time exploring the hidden creek.
Canoeing the river while it is high and fast!

Bad News (we can laugh about it now):

Ticks! Ack they are everywhere!
Lightening while we are going down the river.
Cold water and rainy wind.
Trying to sleep while rain pours into your tent from the hurricane outside.
Getting shot in paint ball ouch!
Gas prices on the road! Ugh $4
Canoeing the river while it is high and fast!

Thanks to the Wii I am getting in to Damery Olympic shape for the 2008 Damery Reunion Olympics. I have been working the Mario Olympics game and getting time on the Mario Kart World competition but the latest is the Wii Fit balance board and it is making me hurt in places reserved for torture. Ugh! Who would have thought some stretching positions would cause such pain.
But in the spirit of Damery Get 'r dun I am on the Know pain and No gain...or so it feels like it.

The Geni family tree site is really getting some good apps. They just added a forest function to show various connected tree's ... this is very cool. They also have a great time line function and keep growing a great web site. I like to think of it more as the living tree as it is kind of a social type of application and allows the various branches to keep in touch with each other. I see Ancestry as the more historical part of the online family tree arena.

Dr. Damery in Florida was the first site that I had run across and had some interaction with that was a Family member who was in the medical profession. During the time of the infamous Irish potato famine of the 1850's many Damerys left Ireland and looked for better fortune in the America's and Australia. Those who traveled to Australia have been known to modify their name with the new land. The Damerys who landed in Australia modified Damery to Dammery and so we are from th same family line.
I have been able to make connection from time to time with Australian Dam(m)erys and I recently ran across this web site for Julie Dammery in the Melbourne area. See her web site and some photos of her work in hair and makeup.

Now I am DameryWorld.com via Godaddy.com but I am still hosted by Nexpoint!

I have been working and planning on a centralized Damery Genealogy site and I think Google Groups is just the place. I have it currently set up so that if you want to join in adding information, you will need to request an invitation. So we keep out the junk that the internet seems to produce. I have just started setting things up and getting my own information loaded on it, but I plan on doing more research and trying to get the rest of the family researchers focused on one web location.

I have learned another great Google tool. I am adding this to my domain index web page, as soon as my host company Nexpoint gives me access. They have been having attacks on the server that I use and need to move me to a new more "Secure" server..whatever. I paid to have a web site hosted I don't need to know you business, just host my site..ok?!

Wow what a treat to hear about a Damery farmer in the vineyard business in America. Patrica Damery works the Harms Vineyard and Lavender fields north of San Fransisco in the napa valley region. Sally A. Nichols, 62, of Denny road, died Sunday Jan. 7, 2007, at a Brunswick hospital.
She was born in Bath on July 8, 1944, a daughter of Kenneth L. and Marguerite E. Stairs Ladd. She was educated in Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School, class of 1962.
She loved spending time with her friends and enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, quilting, any type of crafts, and shopping. She always had pet birds and most recently shared her home with three pet canaries.
She is predeceased by an infant daughter, Debbie Rossa.
She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Peter A. Rossa of Arizona and Eric Nichols; three brothers, Wayne K. Ladd and his wife Deborah, of Brunswick, David P. Ladd and his wife Barbara, of West Bath and Bruce A. Ladd and his wife Cheryl, of Bath; a sister, Dawn M. and her husband, Alfred Bourque, of Topsham; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division Inc., 1 Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
Visitng hours will be held from 10 to 11a.m. on Thursday at David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Dale T. Damery
ASSUMPTION - Dale T. Damery, 86, Assumption, World War II Army Air Forces veteran and diesel engineer, died Thursday (Dec. 28, 2006). Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, with military rites. Memorials: DMH Home Health & Hospice Service. Published in the Decatur Herald & Review on 1/1/2007. I wanted to thank Dallas, Nancy and Mike and all their family for their service to the Damery family.

The Damery World site is beginning to take shape. I am still looking for a good tool to use to write and merge all these pieces together. My current tool is Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 although I am still using FireFTP via my Firefox browser to pass files back and forth. Since using allot of the Google pieces I am having a bit of a tough time getting into the xml widget scripting that Google uses for themes. I have do like the XML notepad 2007 program which seems to expose the downloaded templates so that I can get a better handle on the code, however it is not an editor. I will continue working on the content but I will also be working more on my Damery Genealogy this year and perhaps branching into the Ladd branch as well as other family branches.

Well it appears we have a communications breakdown in the Damery clan as we did not see each other live in the Halo 2 Arena. We did kick a little Halo 2 butt, however it is always more fun to go blasting with family. We shall see if we cant get the Damery clan live again soon.

Damery Christmas is coming December 16th and we will be scheduling an xbox LIVE shootout. look for xDamery and join the Party! Halo2, Starwars BattleFront II and maybe some other games...

Moving forward into the Damery Googlized World.

The Domain is on and I am moving forward with Google domains. Although I was surprised that Google didn't really have my domain point to their servers but instead used a sort of redirect to a Personal Start page...much like the customized google page. The customized start page was a nice surprise.
I did not want to have a splash page so I just added a full page frame to fake like it is really my index.
I would like more control of layout and style, but I am sure I can figure that out as I go...
Pros:

familiar layout for google users.
many premade gadgets.
ready for content quickly and I am able to add my already created blogs, Picasa web albums and Google documents.

Cons:

Start page redirect. Maybe I have not set something up right...stay tuned.
Had a little trouble with Start Page refresh when adding rss feed gadgets etc.
Not enough style layout control yet.

I am going to be trying a few other web designs using the Google tools and I might have another Google domain going up.

Stay tuned as I get the calendar and other pieces in sync with the Damery World.

Well as the recent advances in Google applications continues I am at the point now where I am ready to stop paying for a host and just point my domain in Googles direction.

Look out Damery World is going to be part of the Google World.
